write it down

Every time I tell my family something funny that the kids say or do, they always say "You need to write it down."

So we were all just sitting in the family room. I was feeding Carter and the kids were playing Lego's together. We were talking about nicknames and how you got one. Here's our conversation:

Mom: If you could have a nickname, what would it be? Think really hard about it. Tyler, you first.

Tyler: My name could be Jokey.

Mom: Good one- because you like to tell jokes. Addison is next. But she already has a nickname. We call her Goose. (jake calls her Addie Goose.) Jake, what's your nickname?

Jacob: You can call me Jacob Speedy. (Jake loves to have races with anyone who will race him- even strangers we meet at the store)

Mom: Ok, it's my turn. What can mommy's nickname be?

silence for a few seconds

Tyler: I know. . . Dishwasher!

Nice.

Memorial Day

I know I am a little late on this post, too- but for good reason. We got a new camera a few weeks ago and just barely downloaded the pictures from the new camera, so here they are. We had a fun, but super busy Memorial weekend. The kids started the weekend off by having a campout with Daddy in the backyard. It was actually his idea. They watched movies and had a snack and then Addie came in and the boys stayed outside. On Memorial Day, we headed down to the Long Beach Aquarium early in the morning. Then off to my parents to hang out for awhile. Next, to my grandparents for a BBQ to celebrate my aunts, grandpas and brother-in-laws birthday. We finally got home at 10 pm. Fun times!

Kicking the weekend off... watching The Bee Movie in the tent

We bought some nectar to feed the lorakeets- when one landed on Aaron's hand, Addie didnt know what to do. She was excited but scared to death.
Little man was great the whole time! Love him!

Tyler is the king of staring contests. He will win everytime! Here he is taking on my aunt. They went for several minutes and he never cracked a smile- we were all laughing so hard.

better late than never

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

First off to my own Dad-
I love you so much and am so blessed that I get to call you Dad.
You have been there for me for absolutely everything...
and I know that you still are.
You are an example to me and
I love to just sit and talk with you.
I know that you are in pain a lot and don't feel very good,
but you always make time for me and the kids.
Thanks for being my Dad, I love you.

Next, to my amazing father-in-law...
Thank you for being such an amazing father to your children.
I know that Aaron is the kind of Dad he is- because of your wonderful example.
You are always so open and loving towards us and
we love you!
Can't wait to see you next month!

And especially to my sweetheart...
I honestly think you are the most amazing father.
I feel so lucky that our kids have you as their Daddy.
You never miss an opportunity to play lego's, look for bugs or have a tea party.
You are never too tired or busy to play with the kids.
Y0u have been amazing since Carter has been born and
your help has been priceless.
Thank you for loving me and loving our children.
We all love you more than words can describe!

Happy Father's Day to all the amazing Dad's out there.

A Day at the Spa

Okay, not really a whole day- more like 10 minutes- but it was still fun. I used to paint Addie's toes when she was tiny, but haven't done it recently, mainly because I didn't think she'd sit still. I was wrong! My mom did it a few months ago and she was an angel. She loved it and sat still the whole time. Whenever anyone asked who did her toes she would get a big smile and say "Dammy did! She says dammy for Grammy. We had a few minutes the other night while Carter was asleep, before Daddy got home from work and she was in desperate need of a pedicure, so that's what we did! It was so fun- have I said recently how much I love having a girl? I do!

Getting ready- how's that for some bed head? (she just woke up from her afternoon nap)
Before

After- ahh, much better!

My boys are very interested in this stuff- Tyler wanted to help with the drying.
She tried to blow on them, too, but her leg are a little too chubby to reach!

Carter's Blessing Day

We blessed our little Carter a few weeks ago on Sunday, May 3rd. It was such a fantastic day and we had lots of family that came for the special day. Aaron's whole family traveled to be there. His parents came from Milpitas, sister and family from Imperial and brother and family from Vacaville. Most of my family and relatives were also there. After the blessing everyone came back to our house for brunch. We had quiche and muffins from Marie Callendars and fresh fruit and OJ. All the cousins had a blast playing outside, wrestling, catching bugs, fishing at the lake and mostly, playing with the Wii. Thanks to everyone for traveling so far- we love you all! What a great day!

After all our company left, Aaron's mom stayed for another 7 days. It was so wonderful to have another pair of hands to help out. She is so great with the kids and helped with everything: diapers, cleaning, cooking, laundry, babysitting- the list goes on and on.

(The outfit Carter is wearing is the same one that both Tyler and Jacob wore for their blessing days. It was a little big for him, but I love that they were all blessed in the same special outfit. The boys kept asking "Why is Carter wearing a dress?")

3 of the girl cousins- cute Hailey, Addie and adorable Paige.
All the boy cousins.
The whole gang- Edmonds and Bewseys!
Our little family.
Before church.
A little baseball anyone? These kids got some great exercise playing the Wii!
Crazy Aunt Marlina!
Isn't she adroable? Gotta love that hair and huge grin! (Paige- 11 months)
Catching bugs- this activity kept those boys busy most of the afternoon.
Uncle Lance (Aaron's brother, can you tell?) and cousin Andrew.
