Quick Treat

It's hard to believe that these 4 ingredients. . .

can make these yummy treats!

yes, there is one missing but isn't it the mother's job to taste test-- just in case??

Which inevitablly leads to these happy kids . . .

Want this great recipe? It's so easy and now it's one of my kids favorites. (I am back on Weight Watchers after a super long ((and enjoyable)) 9 month vacation so I used Splenda in place of sugar.) I am not a PB fan, but these are quite tasty and for those of you who are, I'm sure you're just love them!

Ani's PB Cookies
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup chocolate chips

Mix together and roll into balls and then criss cross with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees for approx. 10 minutes. Enjoy!
(Thanks to my sister for this great recipe!)

Rub a Dub Dub, Three Men in a Tub (and a lady!)

Aaron had mutual tonight, so I was on my own to bathe the kiddies and put them to bed. We don't usually bathe them all together, but since I only have 2 hands- that's what we did tonight! The kids loved it and Carter was so quiet just watching the big kids. We got it all done. They got a bath, I read them a story, sang a race car song (which I made up because I don't know any race car songs), said prayers, gave hugs and kisses and got them all tucked in. They are all fast asleep now. My kids play so hard all day that when bed time rolls around- they hit the pillow hard. They are asleep in about 5 minutes. Sweet Dreams!Addie wanted me to take a picture of her and Carter.

All clean and ready for bed!

P.S. Does anyone else brush their kids hair after a bath, before bed? I can't stand putting the kids to bed with their hair all wet and messy. Am I weird??

I love this baby.

I love the way his fuzzy head smells.

I love the way he has to concentrate so hard before he can make himself smile.

I love the way he falls asleep on my chest.

I love the way his eyes close when I rub his head.

I love his perfectly round face.

I love his old man hair and receding hair line.

I love how he is always hungry and will suck on whatever touches his mouth.

I love feeding him at night and tucking him into his crib.

I love that he gets a million kisses a day.

I love that he's all mine.

I love my Carter.

This, That. . . and Baby Kate!!

First of all and most importantly- my sister had her baby yesterday! Lucky girl was 10 days early! Her water broke at 4 am and she finally had her at 12:09 am, the next morning. Poor thing was in labor for 20 hours. I had the honor of being in the room with her and it was truly the most amazing experience. Although I have 4 children, I have never seen a real birth. It was SO awesome! Although she was in terrible pain. she was so amazing and such a trooper. I loved every minute of it and feel so blessed that I was able to see my sweet niece being born. She is truly beautiful with pink, pink lips and LOTS of brown hair. They named her Kate, she was 7 pounds 12 ounces and 20 inches long. A HUGE thank you to my wonderful husband who took over and held down the fort while I was gone. He was alone with all the kids for the whole day- and he did awesome! He was so nice about the whole thing and when I was feeling guilty and almost came home for a couple hours, he insisted that I stay and be with Ani and that he was totally fine. Thanks Aaron!

Congratulations Ani and Matt, you guys are going to be such wonderful parents. Kate is a lucky girl!

My cute sister, at the Newport Temple, last week.Baby Kate- we love you!

In other news. . .

this baby of mine is growing like a weed! He is way out of his 0-3 month clothes and drinks a good 5-6 ounces every 2 or 3 hours! He is doing great at night- in fact last night was his best ever, 7 1/2 hours! That's by far the best nights sleep I've had in almost 6 weeks, it felt wonderful. He is still really fussy during the day, which has been really hard, but we're surviving and I know he'll grow out of it soon. He's so sweet and we already can't imagine life without him. The boys wanted to bring Carter to "share" at pre-school last week. It was pretty cute to see them up there, so proud of their baby brother.

Carter at 5 weeks. That's Addison to the left of Jake, she just sits right down and makes herself at home.

Aaron had to go out of town for a couple nights, for business. I was still a little uncomfortable to stay home alone with 4 kids, so my mom came out for a night and I went to my parents house for the other. We met up with my Dad at Chuck E. Cheese one night. Seriously, my kids could spend the whole day there and never need me! Things are going good here. Life is still super busy and I definitely am more than ready for bed each night. I feel like everyone is adjusting pretty well to having little Carter around, although Tyler prayed tonight that Carter "wouldn't cry so much and Addison will not pinch me anymore." I guess they can't be perfect, right?

Happy Mother's Day!

To all my fellow mommy's out there,
(those who are mom's now and those who are in their hearts, and someday will be)

I just wanted to share my favorite poem on this special day- a day to celebrate this amazing, hard, crazy and rewarding job that we call motherhood.

I'd rather be a mother than anyone on earth
bringing up a child or two (or4!) of unpretentious birth.

I'd rather tuck a little child all safe and sound in bed
than twine a chain of diamonds about my carefree head.

I'd rather wash a smudgy face with round, bright baby eyes

than paint the pageantry of fame or walk among the wise.
~Meredith Gray, from The Beauty of Motherhood

Happy Mother's Day to all of you out there and especially to my own mom.

I love you and am thankful for you every day. Thanks for being my mom.

And of course, I am most thankful for my 4 little blessings- who have given me this most amazing job. I really would "rather be a mother than anyone on earth." Thanks for giving me that opportunity.

I'm Proud

Can we just talk about my cute brother for a minute?

He just got his mission call and will be going to Lima, Peru next month. He is the cutest! I am really proud of him. He's handsome, sweet, funny, very athletic, kind, good with kids, spiritual and just a great guy. We had the amazing opportunity to go to the temple with him this last week. Luckily my mother-in-law was here to watch the kids- or we wouldn't have been able to go. I just couldn't leave Carter with anybody besides Nana! It was an awsome experience and I am so happy I was able to be there with him on his special day. I am going to miss him like crazy while he is in Peru, but I wouldn't want him to be doing anything else for the next 2 years. We did a session at the Newport Beach Temple and then finished with dinner at El Torito. What a great evening! The fam- minus my other brother and his wife (he wasn't able to get away from work.)
Dave looks kinda funny because he was trying to be taller than my Dad. He is, but barely- both are about 6'3".

My parents and Dave.

Let's Play a Game

What's wrong with this picture?

Yes indeed- we passed this lady on the toll road on our way to the temple this week. Are you kidding me?? She was talking on the phone, reading a magazine and DRIVING! I know us women are good at multi-tasking, but seriously- let's save our talents for the home or workplace ladies- NOT THE CAR!!

No Time To Blog

Seriously. I'm so busy. Maybe later...
