THURSDAY

We have ourselves a birthday for little Carter- I am going to be induced on Thursday, April 10th at 7 am! I know many of you are thinking, yikes!- don't get induced! Let me assure you, I'm totally fine with it. I've been induced twice, with no problems and in my book, I prefer it. I can plan out where the kids will be, organize and rearrange our schedules and it takes the surprise out of it- which for me, is good. I don't like to be caught off guard, so this is perfect! Honestly, I couldn't be happier. Now I have tomorrow to get things in order, pack the last minute stuff for the kids and I can mentally prepare. I have to be at the hospital at 7, things probably won't get started until 8 or so, so I'm hoping to have a baby around noon. (at least that's the way things unfolded with Addie)Obviously, things were still the same at my appt today. I wasn't dilated anymore so since he knows my babies aren't particularly small, he suggested next Tuesday (the 14th!!) for induction. I quickly talked him into this Thursday- I had my whole speech planned out and it worked! I will go in Wednesday afternoon for a foley cathedar (just like with Addie) and then by Thursday morning, I should be dilated to a 4- which will mean a quicker labor for me. This way I will also get my epidural right away and hopefully not feel any pain. See what I mean about planning things out- I know it's a fault, but I can't help it. My hospital is an hour away, down by my parents house, so we will be leaving Wed. morning and staying the night down there.

I should get out of the hospital on Saturday and be home that night and then my mom will keep the kids for a couple nights. Aaron will be able to take a couple weeks off, so that will be a huge help. Then when he goes back to work, his mom will come out and help- she's a HUGE help, too. So I will be well taken care of for the next few weeks.

On a sentimental note, I can't wait to welcome this new, sweet spirit into our family. I have been thinking, dreaming and imagining what he'll be like for 40 weeks! I can't wait to get him into my arms and hold him and kiss his little head. Is there anything better than a newborn head?? On Sunday morning all the kids were in our bed wrestling and playing around. As I looked at all 3 of their little faces, I felt so much love for each of them. I feel so blessed- that I am able to be the mom to these kids. They are each so unique, amazing, smart and cute. I love that I am able to spend my day with these little people. Now that we are bringing another one into our home, it's truly humbling and awesome. Heavenly Father has truly blessed me and I am so thankful. To think that just 5 short years ago we didn't know if we'd be able to have kids- a lot has changed since then.

I will post pictures as soon as I can! See you in a few days!

Yeah for you. I am so excited for all the babies being born right now. You are the third person I know in the last week to be having a baby. I've got the bug now. I was induced with Sydney and I totally loved the planning thing. I had c-sections with the other two and again planning is great, even though they came early. I can't wait to see him.

All I can say I AMEN to it all. I was leaning towards a c-section with Grant just so I can plan it out. But in the long run v-bac is way better. And I dont think there is anything better than a little fuzzy baby head to kiss. Good luck. I hope it goes fast and pain free. Gotta love the drugs!

So exciting that it's only a few days away! I had induction dates set for both kids and they ended up beating them. Maybe that will happen to you this time! (I'm hoping for it again this time too!) Is the 10th your actual due date? If you're delivering at Mission, who is your Dr.?

I am with Allison.. Maybe what happened to me will happen to you. I was at the mall (the day before I was supposed to get induced) shopping for a few last minute things, was ABOUT to enjoy a piece of pizza in the food court when my water broke. It was hilarious, and embarrassing to say the least, just wear black pants the next few days.. that's where I made the mistake. I had on light purple juicy sweatpants.. Oh man! I am so excited for you!

Danielle, you are such a good mom, and a wonderful friend... I'm so glad I know you! Your post made me cry... remembering the moments just after Lauren was born is still so real for me, I remember it like it was yesterday. Nothing compares. You have so much to look forward to, it'll be one of the best days of your life, enjoy it!
And you're getting induced...you are so good at convincing your doctors, I wish I had those skills! I've been thinking about you the last few days, can't wait for the news on Thursday. When I first read the title of your post I thought you'd had him already!!!
Good luck! I'll be thinking of you!

Should I take back everything I said about having an April baby?
I personally like that date and I'm sure Carter will love it also. You really sound good. You sound resolved and excited and just at peace. That's a really good sign. I've been thinking about you all week too. Take care.

I'm so happy that you have an end in sight!! It is really nice to have an actual date to plan these things. I don't think I would like to 'wait' for my babies to come either. As much as I hate a recovery from a C-section, it is nice to know months in advance the birth date of your baby. Good luck and I hope every thing runs as smooth as planned. I can't wait for pictures! Did you get a new camera yet??
